I can still prevent things from happening even if I never tell anyone about it. Plus, I could say, "I'm telling you, x is going to happen!!"....I never told anyone that I was able to see into the future.

By seeing into the future, you either prevent the future from happening or you prevent all futures besides that one from happening. Unless the button does something else.
