Fear of heights is different. The fear of heights is impulsive, you can't tell your mind that you wont fall. Same as fear of spiders even though you can easily squash the thing.

I love heights, so to suddenly be phobic of them would be a bummer, but my life wouldn't change that much. I could fly if I needed to save myself. And I could get therapy.
