Past is a WAY better choice. When you travel in the future, you cant go back to your regular time/times you have missed that are great. With the past one, you could relive some nice moments...

Pressing the button is a no-brainer. The direction of travel is its own debate, but there is no proximate downside to choosing to gain time travel as an ability.

I will travel in the future just before I die. In 2100, then 2200, 2300 and so on until the end. So I'll kinda live forever lol

(Presses button) Have a kid, go forward in time, meet them in the future, become their best friend, and tell them when they're a few years older who you are. Or just call the Doctor whenever you want to go in the other direction.

I wouldn't press it. traveling through time would destroy the space-time continuum and create universal paradoxes everywhere and possibly wreck your own timeline, therefore removing you from existence. Nope. Too risky. No press for me
