Read it the other way around, by pressinf this you put somone you love in death danger and then save it killing 1000 random peoples, it don't make sense.

I've lost people in my life already. I know how much it hurts. I wouldn't want anyone else to have to deal with the pain I endured, even if it meant I lost someone else.
