End the misery of those in the bottom. Drive the prices of food down. Save everyone that was malnourished but not quite starving. The definition of starving really is pretty close to "dying of hunger". Small sacrifice for upcoming generations.

They were going to die anyways - THEY WERE STARVING. At least we have put them out of their misery, and made it so that the future generations don't have to deal with this problem
